Peanut Loan Rate Calculator

This resource was developed to assist in calculation of peanut loan rate as a function of grade. These outputs are unofficial; this is intended to be a tool for farmers and industry reps to use for calculating 'what-if' scenarios and in no way is intended to replace official values provided on the FSA-1007 form.

Crop Year

Selection of crop year sets published FSA rates, premiums, and discounts accordingly.

Peanut Type

Yield Entry

Gross, Harvested Yield: Includes FM, LSK, and Moisture as harvested (adjust below). I.e.: Represents the gross weight leaving the field.

Gross, Inspected Yield: Includes FM, LSK, and Moisture as represented on inspection certificate. I.e.: Represents gross weight that was inspected.
Net Yield: Excludes all FM and Excess Moisture but includes LSKs. I.e.: Represents only Cleaned In-Shell Peanuts and LSKs at 7% moisture.

Segregation

Segregation 1: Farmers' stock peanuts with not more than 3.49% damaged kernels, no more than 1% concealed RMD (rancid, moldy, or decayed) damage, and which are free from visible Aspergillus flavus.
Segregation 2: Farmers' stock peanuts with more than 3.49% damaged kernels or more than 1% concealed RMD (rancid, moldy, or decayed) damage, and which are free from visible Aspergillus flavus.
Segregation 3: Farmers' stock peanuts with visible Aspergillus flavus.

Foreign Material Sample

Foreign Material. Everything other than loose peanut kernels and in-shell peanuts in the farmers' stock sample.

Loose Shelled Kernels. Kernels and parts of kernels which are free from the hull in a load of farmers' stock peanuts.

Moisture is used in the calculations here and on the FSA 1007 form to correct weights.

Cleaned Sample

Sound Mature Kernels. The percentage by weight of kernels from the shelled sample that rides a 15/64 x 1 in. (Virginia type) or 16/64 x 3/4 in. (Runner type) screen.

Sound Splits. The percentage by weight of kernels from the shelled sample that consist of undamaged split kernels or broken kernels (undamaged 1/4 to 3/4 kernel pieces).

Total Sound Mature Kernels. TSMK is the total of SMK (sound mature kernels) + SS (sound splits).

Exra Large Kernels. An ELK screen is used only for Virginia types. ELK is the percentage by weight of kernels from the shelled sample that rides a 21.5/64 x 1in. screen.

Other Kernels. The percentage by weight of kernels from the shelled sample that falls through the SMK screen. Other kernels are mostly smaller, less mature kernels.

The sum of damaged kernels (DK), including freeze damage and concealed RMD (rancid, moldy, or decayed).

Error! Cleaned Sample Total Exceeds 100%.
TSMK + OK + TD must be less than 100%.

Yield Summary
