Clemson Feed Ration Optimizer
This resource was developed for livestock producers to automate feed ration generation to match nutritional criteria.
To use this web app, feed ration nutritional criteria (ranges, minimums, maximums) can be manually set
by nutrition component (e.g. Crude Protein, Total Digestible Nutrients, etc.) or automatically set using
published recommendations for various classes of beef cattle, goat, and sheep rations.
Next, define up to 10 feedstuffs (e.g. locally available ingredients) to be used for building 'potential' rations.
After clicking the 'Generate Rations' button, combinations of the user-specified feedstuffs are generated
and compared to the defined nutritional criteria. Rations meeting the nutritional criteria are displayed
and sorted by price, lowest to highest (if price information is provided).
Rations generated here can be pushed to our Feed Ration Calculator
for additional adjustment, development of mix sheet, and emailing of outputs.
