The amounts of lime indicated on Clemson soil test results are based on a soil mixing depth of 8 inches.

For ornamentals and turf grass where no tilling will be performed,
  • Using this calculator: Select 4 inches for mixing depth; however, apply to the surface in two applications, once now and once in six months.
  • Using your Clemson soil test results: Apply half of the recommended lime requirement, and in 6 months, apply the remaining half.
